100W vs 200W Solar Panels
The right panel size depends on the job. A 100W panel is easier to move and cheaper to try. A 200W panel can make more sense when charging a larger battery or when good sun hours are limited.
Choose 100W when
- You need a light, portable panel for camping or small devices.
- You are maintaining a 12V battery and do not need fast recovery.
- You want the lowest-cost entry point for learning the setup.
Choose 200W when
- You are charging a medium portable power station.
- You have limited sun time and need more collection per hour.
- You are powering a shed, garage bench, or longer weekend setup.
Panel wattage is a lab rating, not a promise. Compare dimensions, connector type, open-circuit voltage, and the charge input limit of your battery or power station.
